Colleen

Birth Doula

Newborn Respite

Colleen was born in Minnesota and spent the first 36 years of her life there. Some of her earliest memories are of playing with her dolls and wanting to be a wife and mother someday. She met her husband while attending college and has been married for 29 years. She has three adult children who she loves to spend time with. While being pregnant and giving birth she realized how much she wanted to learn about her options and have a positive birth experience and to help other women as well. She attended a number of births for family and friends but put her desire to become a doula on hold while she raised her family. In 2003 she moved to Arizona with her family and currently lives in Glendale.

In 2016 she was asked to attend a friend’s birth as her support person. This reignited her desire to pursue becoming a doula and she finished her training right before the birth of her friend’s baby. She has since become a certified birth doula and serves the Phoenix metro area.

Colleen has a nurturing care for women and loves helping them through education, options and birth preferences to have the birth experience that they desire. She provides support throughout pregnancy to provide information or answer questions. She will support her clients birth choices by being there during labor, delivery and postpartum with physical comfort measures, words of encouragement and emotional support. She realizes that this is one of the most important times in a women’s life and wants to help create memories that will be remembered in a positive way.

Vanessa

Birth Doula

With a big leap of faith and her bags packed, Vanessa moved from New York to Arizona eleven years ago. A lot has happened in her time in Arizona, from finding her husband of 8 years and now her precious daughter.

Her journey has cleared a path for her to find her true passion. After her daughter was born in 2017, she knew she wanted to be a part of something bigger. Every part of pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the 4th trimester fascinated her. She wanted to dive into the birth world and learn everything she could to help herself and expecting friends and family.

Her passion was ignited and she hasn't looked back! She was committed to becoming a Birth Doula.

Vanessa believes that every birth is uniquely special. Her goal is to ensure each birth is met with joy beyond expectation. She offers evidence based information to empower her clients with making decision that are right for their family. In addition, she commits to continuous emotional and physical support throughout labor and delivery. With every birth, unmedicated, medicated or cesarean, her goal is to nurture and achieve a positive experience that her clients and birth partner(s) will joyfully remember for a lifetime.

Lauren

Birth Doula

Lauren was born in Texas, but has spent most of her life in Arizona. She grew up in the East Valley and now resides in Tempe with her husband and two children. When she has a few moments to herself, you can find her curled up with a good book. Before having children, Lauren was a 2nd grade teacher, but has since stayed home with her kids. When she became pregnant with her first, a friend asked if she would be interested in having a birth doula. She wasn’t sure what to expect, but readily accepted any sort of support. This same friend was Lauren’s birth doula during both of her labors and deliveries and she truly believes it was an invaluable investment. It was within those experiences that Lauren found her true passion and calling - the wonderful world of childbirth! Now that her children are in school, she has embarked on her own journey as a birth doula.

Lauren is passionate about empowering women in their own journeys through pregnancy, labor, and delivery. She believes that there is true power in being able to make informed decisions (using evidence-based research) and having your voice heard. Whether you desire an intervention-free birth or have a scheduled cesarean birth, her goal is to give you whatever support you desire. She believes the birth experience is a momentous occasion and should be respectfully protected, as research shows that your experience is something you will remember for years to come. Lauren would love to work with you to create a positive experience that you can look back on fondly.

Tonya

Birth Doula

Tonya relocated to sunny Arizona from the Midwest in 2009 after getting her B.S in Environmental Chemistry. In addition to working as a Labor Doula, she is currently a stay at home mom to her two beautiful children with the full support of her amazing husband Daniel.

Back in 2016 after many rounds of invasive fertility treatments, Tonya was able to conceive her daughter Aria. She was determined to learn everything she could about pregnancy and childbirth. As a research junkie, Tonya spent countless hours reading every evidence based article and book she could get her hands on in preparation. It was through that process, the call to birth work rang loud.

After over a year of trying and finally resorting to fertility treatments again, she got pregnant with Roman in 2018 and began her training to become a Labor Doula.

Tonya believes everyone should have both physical and emotional support during labor and have been provided all the tools necessary for the parents to make informed consent. It is with her passion of research she is also in the process of becoming a Childbirth Educator.

Whether you're planning a natural delivery, want an epidural, or will need a cecerean, Tonya will be by your side making sure you are as comfortable as possible and feeling empowered.

Giving birth, no matter how, is truly heroic.

Tonya and her little family live in North Phoenix. In her free time she enjoys reading, going on adventures, and a good Netflix Binge.

GerVonne

Birth Doula

GerVonne grew up in Detroit, Michigan and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona in 2010. She is a mother to three beautiful, smart, and talented children. MaKayla, D'Andre Jr, and Jaylen. She found herself called to work as a childbirth educator and doula after having her children. GerVonne's passion lies in educating women about how incredible they are, the amazing things their bodies are capable of, and how to trust their intuition. GerVonne gave birth to all three of her children un-medicated and all though she had pain, she was able to manage it with focused breathing and support. She believes birthing women just need encouragement to trust their bodies and be stars of there own labor. GerVonne will support the birth you want, will provide physical and emotional support and empower you to trust your innate strength. She sees pregnancy, birth, and growth of families as one of the most beautiful things about life.

Lisa

Birth Doula

Lisa grew up in Northern California and moved to Arizona with her husband in 2005. Initially they thought Arizona would be their home for 2-3 years, but soon they fell in love with the slower pace of life and opportunities and decided to put down roots.

When Lisa was pregnant with her first child, she was introduced to the concept of a doula and after experiencing the support and care during her first two births, she knew this was the work she was meant to do.

Lisa has attended the births of several close friends, as their doula, and with every single birth her passion for this work is reaffirmed. Lisa believes in providing evidence-based care and helping families create the birth experience that is right for them.

Supporting, educating, and empowering these families, while providing emotional and physical comfort, reminds Lisa that she is blessed to be a part of something miraculous, natural, and beautiful, whatever that looks like for each family.
